      CASE STUDY

      Grantwood Golf Course

The City of Solon’s Grantwood Golf Course is going to be a little brighter next year.

As part of our anniversary celebration for landscape and our move to Solon this past summer, we wanted to celebrate with the community. Our PR team reached out to the City of Solon to see if they had any projects or properties where we could help make an impact.

The Grantwood Golf course was a perfect benefactor. The course is a public, 18-hole course with a large clubhouse which includes meeting rooms and a banquet facility for up to 150. The banquet room is often booked for showers, birthday celebrations, and sometimes family reunions, and gets year-round use.

“I try to run pretty lean at Grantwood to be efficient, so the opportunity to freshen up the place is appreciated. Kichler donated $25,623 worth of lighting and design services.”
      - Rich Parker, Solon’s Parks and Recreation Director

The golf course had some existing landscape lighting, but it was in disrepair, either flickering or placed in areas that didn’t accentuate the historical clubhouse’s best features. There was also a need to create a safely lit walkway into the building. We met with the folks from the city and the golf course director to learn their needs. After discussing the project we created a thoughtful design layout and started looking for a local contractor to help us complete the job. Kichler donated path lights, accent fixtures, cylinder wall lights, dual-light spotlights and outdoor wall lantern to complete the local community project.

"Kichler Lighting recently moved its headquarters to Solon and is already making a mark on the community."
      - Jill Sell, Partnership Content at Cleveland.com

As Kichler’s landscape lighting team toasts to three decades of illuminating what matters most outdoors, director of landscape Scott Pesta reflects on what makes Kichler unique. “At Kichler, we keep our customer partners at the core of our work,” says Pesta. “Our landscape lighting team focuses on growing our dealers’ and our contractors’ businesses in measurable and meaningful ways with value-added services, tools and support, as well as expansive product offerings that meet or exceed industry standards.”
