What is your title?
VP – Logistics & Distribution
What does your job entail?
Developing strategies to best serve our customers, gaining alignment and driving execution, all while getting the product out the door on time.
What does your day to day look like at work?
No day is ever the same, which is energizing to me. For example, this morning I had six back to back meetings. The first was with another company to benchmark and build my network, two others were weekly project check-ins, one was a monthly review of logistics spend and the final two were 1:1 meetings. Later this afternoon, I’ll be on a Gemba walk in the distribution center and serving ice cream for Employee Appreciate Day. All in all, this is a good day, as most of them are!
When did you start a Kichler?
What do you like most about your job?
Working with others to tackle a challenge. To me there is no better way to grow then to put yourself and others into heat assignments. That is when you find out the most about yourself and the team.
In the past few years, I have become to enjoy coaching and mentoring. I’ve been fortunate to have several mentors in my life and to be able to return the favor is beyond rewarding.
How has your career changed (career development)?
Change is constant and I love that! Over the years, I’ve gone from engineering to continuous improvement to project management to product management, from operations to marketing back to operations, from US to Europe to China. Being exposed to a wide range of processes and companies within the Masco evolving portfolio has been amazing.
Along the way, my mentors continue to challenge me and shape who I am as a leader. I count many in my network as a ‘mentor’ and try to cultivate that network as much as possible. Without a doubt, that network of mentors has supported me through many points in my career.
What do you like to do when you are not at work?
My husband and I are avid high school event watchers. With a sophomore and senior that are both very active, my ‘happy place’ is being on the sidelines watching them do what they love and being there for them as they navigate through the states of their lives.
My family also has the travel bug. We love to explore and experience new places whenever possible.
