Kichler Reinvigorates Outdoor Lantern Collection with 22 New Families
LED, ENERGY STAR Lanterns At Center of Renewed Focus on Outdoor Category
CLEVELAND—Jan. 14, 2010—Complete with a stand-alone catalog and 22 new outdoor
families, Kichler is reinvigorating its standing in the outdoor lantern category with the company’s
largest outdoor product release to date. Central to the company’s new additions are 12 ENERGY STAR
families, including three Design Pro LED collections, combining energy savings and dark sky
compliance with the durable materials, quality finishes and innovative designs associated with the
Kichler brand.
“Not only have we developed new outdoor families, but we’ve expanded our existing
collections to include a wider range of wall-mounted lantern sizes and added more flush
mounts, hangers and decorative posts,” said Bob Doernberg, Kichler senior product manager. “No
matter what their personal style, budget or geographic location, homeowners will have a wide
breadth of product from which to choose.”
Kichler outdoor families are constructed using durable solid brass, aluminum, or
stainless steel, and incorporate powder-coated finishes to withstand harsh outdoor
conditions.
Design Pro LED
Using 75 percent less electricity than their incandescent counterparts with an average
lifespan of 15 years, Kichler’s new Design Pro LED lanterns apply the best LED technology available
to produce a bright, white light in the same color range as traditional incandescent
lighting.
The following Design Pro LED families are both ENERGY STAR and Dark Skies
compliant:

Franceasi™
-- Offered in four sizes, the elongated, rectangle-shaped Franceasi lanterns feature a four-sided
traditional filigree pattern against a durable aluminum back plate in an Olde Bronze® finish.
Incandescent versions with glass also are available.

Maya
Palm™ – The lanterns of this free-form collection feature a flattened, cylinder-shaped housing
comprised of intersecting, palm-leaf-inspired accents. Available in two sizes in an Aged Bronze
finish.

Takil™
-- Named for a palm native to the foothills of the Himalaya, the rectangular Takil lanterns feature
an exposed palm-leaf design on three sides. Offered in two sizes in an Aged Bronze finish.
ENERGY STAR
In addition to the Design Pro LED lanterns, eight new fluorescent outdoor families
also are ENERGY STAR qualified. The following families are specifically designed for florescent
lighting, complete with energy-saving photo cells. Incandescent versions also are available.

Camden™
-- At the center of this vertically stretched family is an Opal Etched glass tube surrounded by a
vertical framework finished in Anvil Iron. Available fixtures include four wall mounts, a post
light, a hanging lantern and a ceiling mount.

Lancaster
Gardens™ -- The Lancaster Gardens family features two delicately floating aluminum leaf accents
atop an oval shaped cylindrical Pine Bark glass in an Aged Bronze finish. Three wall-mount lanterns
and a post light available as part of this collection.

Leeds™
– This soft contemporary family features rectangle-shaped, Cased Opal Etched glass with a
rectangular-shaped accent along the bottom of the glass. Available fixtures include four wall
mounts, a hanging lantern, a post light and a flush mount, all finished in Anvil Iron.

Pasadena™
-- Mouth-blown, Feathered Cream art glass is the focal point of this updated Craftsman family.
Dramatic, oval-shaped shades are cradled by framing that incorporates oval accents in an Olde
Bronze finish. Eight striking pieces are available as part of this collection.

Cayman
Shores™ -- The universal symbol of hospitality, the pineapple, is the focus of this casual
family. Pineapple-shaped framing surrounds mouth-blown, honey-colored textured glass, while a
Legacy Bronze finish completes the look. Stand-out fixtures include three wall mount lanterns, each
featuring a pineapple frame hanging from a curving rod, a post mounted lantern and a chain hung
lantern.

Square™ -- This Arts and Crafts inspired family incorporates elongated rectangle-shaped Etched
Seedy glass highlighted by vertical metal banding on each side. Offered in two finishes and two
materials, including Solid Brass with an Olde Bronze or Stainless Steel finish.

Royal
Marine™ -- This collection takes its name from the nautical-inspired accents found throughout
the design and detailing of this four-piece family. The marine-styled designs are complemented by
an Olde Bronze finish.

Venetian
Rain™ -- The entrancing beauty of raindrops scattered against a window pane is replicated
within the texture and design of this family’s clear glass shades. Each elongated,
inverted-triangle shade houses candelabra bulbs, and intricate iron framework and finials add to
the collection’s beauty. Eight traditional fixtures, including an eye-catching post light, are
powder-coated and available in a hand-painted Burnished Bronze or a deep Black finish with gold
highlights.
