Where Savings Meet Style: Kichler Introduces New Energy Efficient Solutions
New Catalog Features More Than 100 Fashion-Friendly Energy Efficient
Items
CLEVELAND—February 14, 2006—As energy supplies continue to
diminish, gas and electric bills soar, making an investment in energy-efficient products a must for
today’s homeowners. Luckily, the experts at Kichler have made energy savings fashion friendly, with
the introduction of an energy efficient lighting catalog, including more than 115 new fixtures that
meet today’s changing energy standards without losing their aesthetic appeal.
"The need to conserve energy is a reality, whether you live in
federally-mandated energy efficient areas or are just concerned with growing gas and electric
bills," said Jeff Dross, Kichler product manager. "Energy costs are changing the way people shop
for lighting, and because fashion is an important decorating element in every home, fashion was our
focus in producing this new line. If you place a fluorescent fixture from Kichler next to its
incandescent counterpart, you will not be able to tell the difference."
From kitchen to bathroom solutions, all of Kichler’s energy
efficient fixtures were designed to match or complement existing incandescent Kichler families,
both indoors and out. For outdoor lighting, four new designs were created, and four existing
families were modified to accept fluorescent bulbs. Five new families were designed in multiple
finishes for interior lighting to easily complement existing families.
The majority of the new offerings are Energy Star compliant,
which identifies lighting that uses two-thirds less energy than conventional lighting and lasts six
to 10 times longer. Those not displaying the Energy Star logo are still much more efficient than
their incandescent counterparts.
Kichler’s energy efficient catalog offers color pictures,
detailed descriptions and helpful charts to give homeowners a better understanding of energy
mandates and efficiency benefits. Helpful worksheets also allow consumers to compare and track
energy savings for their homes. Consumers can pick up a copy of the catalog by visiting their local
Kichler Lighting showroom.
