Kichler Embraces Energy Efficient
Living, Introduces New LED Cabinet Lighting New under cabinet lighting applies finest LED technology for
energy savings
CLEVELAND—Feb. 6, 2008— As more and more consumers look for ways to save energy, Kichler
continues to respond with new energy-saving solutions. In addition to the full collection of energy
efficient fixtures already offered, Kichler introduces
Design
Pro Series™ -- a new line of energy efficient, LED under cabinet lighting for the kitchen. The
new system provides considerable energy savings with 40,000 hours (four times longer than xenon or
fluorescent) and in many cases, more than 20 years of life.
In addition to its energy savings, Kichler Design Pro Series applies the best LED technology
available, which means no more intrusive, blue hues.
“In the past, LEDs were synonymous with harsh, blue tints, but LED technology has grown
considerably,” said Jim Jones, Kichler product manager. “The LED chips Kichler uses emit a soft,
white light that adds warmth and ambience to any kitchen. Plus, because kitchens incorporate
multiple light sources that are left on for extended periods, the line offers considerable energy
savings.”
Sold under the new Kichler Lighting Systems brand, an extension of the Kichler name offering
cabinet, linear,
task and mood
lighting, the product’s LED light source offers a safe, cool light with the smallest profile in the
industry. Measuring at half an inch, the product enables even the most discriminating
homeowner to seamlessly hide the product under any cabinet, no matter what the size or
configuration.
For further benefit, installation is a snap -- literally. The product’s interconnect wiring
system allows for the fixtures to snap together and creates a seamless flow of light under
multiple, separate cabinets. The ease of installation is a bonus for both contractors and
homeowners, who should see reduced installation time and, therefore, cheaper labor-related costs.
Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, Kichler Design Pro Series is offered in three
different outputs, including a 4-watt / 6” length fixture; an 8-watt/ 12” length fixture; and a
12-watt/ 18” length fixture. Finishes include bronze, white and nickel to blend into any
surrounding.
