Kichler Expands Ceiling Fans to Help Homeowners Save Energy, Enjoy Comforts of Home

New Additions Include ENERGY STAR, Wet Location Models

CLEVELAND—Jan. 14, 2010—Thanks to their ability to control heating and cooling costs, ceiling fans have found renewed popularity among today’s budget-minded homeowners. In response, Kichler introduces 19 new models, including five ENERGY STAR fans and five styles approved for wet, outdoor locations.

“Ceiling fans are a natural extension of the Kichler Lighting brand, and we continue to engineer models that not only complement Kichler Lighting families but offer homeowners increased energy savings, quiet motors and designs that help them enjoy their living spaces,” said Ted Collmar, Kichler’s ceiling fan product manager. “Our ceiling fan line offers a breadth of stylings, from cool contemporary to basic and functional, to meet the needs of every homeowner.”< /font>

A majority of the new fans are powered by Kichler’s exclusive CoolTouch™ Remote Control, an all-in-one control system that offers hand-held or wall-mounted operation. All are backed by Kichler’s limited lifetime warranty and are compatible with a variety of Kichler fan accessories, including light kits and finial/pull-chain accents.

ENERGY STAR & Brushless Motor Fans
The following fans are among Kichler’s new ENERGY STAR qualified fans, thanks to their energy-saving components:

  • Canfield™ Select and Canfield Patio – In addition to their durability, the energy-saving Canfield fans offer a casual design suited to match any space. The five-blade, Canfield Select fan features a stacked oval housing with a downlight in four finishes and four reversible blade combinations. In addition to its ENERGY STAR qualification, the outdoor/indoor Canfield Patio fan is approved for use in wet locations and available in four finishes and four reversible blade combinations.

  • Bentzen™ -- Ornate, cut-out detailing on the bottom of the fan box brings a distinctive, decorative appeal to this indoor fan collection. The five-blade Bentzen fan is available in five finishes and five blade combinations and uses a pull-chain control system. Optional down lights and the CoolTouch™ Remote system are available as accessories to this family.

  •   Whitmore™ -- This five-blade fan offers a 60” blade sweep perfect for cooling mid-large sized rooms. With simple details, this budget-friendly family also offers a choice of   four finishes, including a beautiful crackled Canyon Stone™ finish, and four blade combinations.

In addition to these models, Kichler also adds a new energy-saving, brushless motor fan:

  • Ceres™ -- The motor of the Ceres fan uses 65 percent less energy than a typical ceiling fan motor, saving on energy-related costs. The six-blade fan features up and down lighting and contemporary, dentil accents surrounding a lit glass shade. Available in Oil Brushed Bronze™, Brushed Stainless Steel and Antique Pewter with Cherry or Light Oak blades. Offers five speeds, rather than the standard three, for additional flexibility.

Additional Outdoor/Indoor Fans
Five new moisture-resistant fan collections create a relaxing, cool breeze in a covered porch, backyard gazebo or outdoor patio. Engineered to withstand extreme temperatures and approved for use in wet locations, these new models run flawlessly, whether the homeowner uses them indoors or out. Stand-out styles include:

  • Aldrin™ Patio – With a rustic, weathered appeal, this new collection features a circular etched light, which connects to the fan’s five blades courtesy of masculine, curing arms. Available in three finishes – Weathered Steel, Weathered Copper and Tannery Bronze – and five blade styles – Cherry, Teak and three shades of Walnut.

  • Hatteras Bay Patio™ -- Designed to match an expanding Kichler outdoor family, the Hatteras Bay ceiling fan is characterized by a variety of urban-inspired, decorative nuts and bolts and a spherical “Fresnel lens” light cover. This thin glass lens was originally developed for use in lighthouses and is mounted in a thin steel frame in a Tannery Bronze or Weathered Copper finish. Reversible fan styles include Cherry and three shades of Walnut.

  • Seaside™ – A long-time Kichler outdoor lantern family, this collection expands with the addition of an outdoor/indoor lighted ceiling fan in two finishes. A crescent-shaped, white opal glass shade is cradled by two intersecting steel arms and a cone-shaped steel cover. Available in a Brushed Nickel or Olde Bronze finish with four reversible Walnut/Light Oak blades. Operates off a pull-chain control system.

Decorative Fans

Kichler also expands its decorative ceiling fans with both traditional and contemporary designs. The following contemporary styles meet increased demand for contemporary home furnishings:

  • Arius™ -- With an eye-catching, spinning-top shaped housing, this contemporary fan creates an exciting focal point in any room. Features a unique two-blade design with Satin Smoke blades and an inviting Polished Nickel or Midnight Chrome finish.

  • Palla™ -- The striking Palla collection is the essence of contemporary with sleek, smooth lines, a unique ribbed center column and a mirrored Polished Nickel or Midnight Chrome finish. The fan’s sweeping profile, dense arms and disc-shaped White-Etched glass shades complement the Palla decorative family, which includes several chandeliers, a sconce and a semi-flush ceiling mount.
